About Standlake Equestrian Centre

The Equestrian Centre is a purpose built riding school specialising in teaching children.  We have 8 stables, 40 x 20 open covered arena, 60 x 25 outdoor arena and 20 acres of beautiful nature trail rides, totally off the road.

The horses and ponies are well schooled with friendly qualified instructors, and normally 6 people per class. The Chief instructor is Suzanne Pillans (A.B.R.S. Prins dip & BHSAI) and freelance instructors Angela Jackson (A.B.R.S. IT), Diane Godfrey (A.B.R.S. IT) and Jenny Learney (A.B.R.S. IT). The riding school is B.H.S & A.B.R.S. approved.

The A.B.R.S. Tests are available to all students twice a year and all students are trained up in preparation for each test.

There are occasional show jumping competitions and gymkhanas during the summer for the different levels and ages. Birthday parties can also be organized with riding at the Centre. Pony days are held most holidays and the children are able to experience many activities other than what is covered in their regular lessons. The Christmas pony party is also lots of fun.

Training towards the A.B.R.S. Instructors exams are also available to keen students.

Horse riding on our woodland trails costs £22.00 per hour, or £13.00 per half hour with our qualified Instructors.
